We had a nice dinner at Mezzaluna in Aspen. Having heard that they offer gluten-free pizza and pasta, I had called ahead to verify they took diners with Celiac seriously and knew how to prepare everything to avoid cross contamination. They discussed the procedure of cooking the pizza on foil so it did not come into contact with any gluten flour in the oven. I also confirmed they use a separate cutter, etc. We did not order any of their gluten free pastas, but if you do, call ahead or talk to the manager when ordering to make sure they take proper precautions with that, too, if you have Celiac (boiling the pasta in a clean pot of water, using a clean colander and utensils, etc.). Some of the entrees can be adapted to be gluten-free, too, like the Chicken Piccata can be prepared without dusting it in flour before sautéing it. Just take a look at their menu online, decide what you might want to eat, and talk to the manager about how it can be prepared for you. This is a nice, popular restaurant in the heart of Aspen.

At Mezzaluna, you can enjoy classic Italian cuisine, and an extensive selection of fine wines. All foods are made from scratch daily. Gluten free pasta and pizza crust are available here, upon request. Salads may prove to be additional gluten free options. Some of the wood-fired pizzas include: pepperoni, mushroom, basil pesto, and BBQ chicken. Among the pasta dishes are the penne with rock shrimp, linguine with wild mushrooms, and spaghetti Bolognese. For dessert there is a flourless chocolate torte. Be sure to discuss gluten free options with the server. As always, inform them if you are following a medically necessary gluten free diet. The dinner menu can be viewed here:
