We had a great experience at Bumps at the base of Buttermilk mountain, where we dined for lunch. Although they don't have their gluten free options posted (except for noting they have gluten free pasta available), when I asked for the manager, the head chef, who was standing right in the cafeteria line taking orders, graciously introduced himself and was happy to take care of us. My son wanted a burger on a gluten free bun, and they knew exactly how to avoid cross contamination, preparing it separately. The chef was so nice and assured me again and again that they are very well trained in this regard. This restaurant is run by Aspen Snowmass Dining, and like another one of their restaurants where we dined on Snowmass, they really take diners with Celiac seriously. He pointed out that they had gluten free pasta, and they also had a salad station where you could request custom-made salads with all sorts of toppings and types of protein. Some of their soups may have been gluten-free, but since that didn't interest my son, I didn't ask. t had a wonderful salmon sandwich, which I'm sure could have been made using the gluten-free bun like they used for my son's burger. They had grilled chicken sandwiches, too. Their fries aren't gluten-free, because they don't have a dedicated fryer, but there are all sorts of snacks, chips, fruit, yogurt, and even pre-packaged WOW brand gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and brownies, which were delicious. I'd say this is a safe place to dine if you're gluten-free (Celiac, too) and skiing Buttermilk mountain. Just ask to talk with the head chef when placing your order.
