Gluten free dining in village at Whistler, BC,

This is a really cool restaurant that I'd recommend for dining in Whistler -- but be prepared for a someone limited number of gluten free options. The restaurant itself has a lot of character, decorated with antler chandeliers. I love that true western feel in a ski town. It's got a sophisticated vibe, though, with a gorgeous bar with several flat screen TVs and a bar-like room adjacent to the bar with seating for dinner. There's also a large outdoor area for dining, weather permitting. Although they do have a gluten free menu, it's not terribly extensive. But you can make it work, as we did, by bringing our own gluten free hamburger bun so our son could order one of their delicious burgers (they do not have GF buns). Other things on the menu aren't quite "complete" either, like the fish "tacos" which aren't really tacos at all since you can't have the flour tortillas, and a sandwich without ciabatta bread! I get frustrated with restaurants like this because, really, how hard is it to keep some gluten free buns in the freezer and some corn tortillas on hand? It would make the GF menu that much better. But again, the fact that they even have a gluten free menu is encouraging, and they seem to have really checked out and researched to make sure what's on it is truly gluten free. And there are a number of entrée salads, steaks, 2 delicious chicken options, and salmon. Those are probably the best bet, because no major substitutions are required. There are plenty of sides available, too, including the fries which they say are GF and fried in a dedicated fryer, even though they're not listed on the GF menu.
