I love that us gluten free folks are no longer so limited where we could eat; Boston Market is great and the next best thing we have; and a great variety. Keep up the good work, Boston Market!

What a great treat to find on the Ocean City, New Jersey Boardwalk. I read a review this morning about this little taco stand in the Philadelphia Inquirer and found out the entire place is Gluten Free since the owner suffers from Celiac Disease. Everything we tried was delicious. I particularly loved the fish tacos with an orange chili glaze. They had just the right amount of heat. My daughter loved her chorizo nachos. They also have one of my favorite things -- mexican corn on the cob. Heaven. Even my non-celiac husband thought the steak tacos were one of the best things ever. Wish we had a Pure Tacos closer to our home in PA. It is a grab and go stand. But, we easily found a bench with which to enjoy our food. Love it!

We stopped at this PA/NJ/NY steakhouse chain on our way to visit family over the Thanksgiving weekend. We'd never been to one before. We had a good experience. Charlie Brown's offered a lunch menu with burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other heartier entrees. I ordered tilapia from the gluten-free menu, and our boys split the filet mignon. The mashed potatoes were gluten-free, although the fries were not. There's a nice range of gluten-free options...ribs, fish, chicken, burgers (without the bun), and lots of steaks (what they're known for). While not as extensive as Outback's gluten-free menu, Charlie Brown's is a good standby if you live or are traveling to the NY/NJ/PA area.

We found Mama's via our Google search on our iPod. We could not believe our eyes when we asked for a Gluten Free menu. I mean we could actually enjoy many selections in a authentic Italian restaurant. Mama's is a casual restaurant that has a cafe , many rooms and outdoor dining. The food and service was out of this world. My favorite was the CK Toscana and my daughter loved the pizza. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable about Gluten Free . We cant wait to stop by Mama's again when visiting our friends.

This Chinese Restaurant is an amazing find. The owner Frank has been working hard converting his gluten menu items to gluten free for many years. He can do 90% of his menu at this time gluten free and has been working hard on the other 10%. Not only can he make the food gluten free but it is amazing. The best Chinese food we have ever had. He even makes his own homemade gluten free egg rolls. We have been eating at this restaurant once a week since we found out about it a few months ago. We have also ordered take out from them as well. They are extremely careful whenever you mention gluten free. They completely get how important it is for them not to mess up your orders. We are so thankful to find a place like this to enjoy with our family and friends and still be able to eat gluten free.

Corrado's is a new and beautiful specialty market. Aisle 3 is dedicated to natural foods, organic foods, and gluten free foods. They have a great selection and I even requested gluten free bread crumbs and they had them the next week. They have an attentive staff and the freshest produce, fish and meats. It is a must stop.

Tucked inside this locally-owned natural foods market is a wonderful café with great gluten-free selections. I’ve been shopping here for years (the store just celebrated their 16th anniversary) and always brought home yummy vegan and vegetarian items from the café for my family. It wasn’t until a recent switch to a gluten-free diet, that I noticed the huge variety of gluten-free choices at the Basil Bandwagon Café. I had lunch there with a friend recently. We both had a gluten-free spinach and goat cheese quiche with a side quinoa black bean salad , and a fresh organic vegetable salad. Unbelievably delicious! My friends and I go back several times a week now – sometimes for lunch, sometimes to get items to bring home for dinner. One of my friends (also gluten-free) said it's such a refreshing change since typically when she goes out to eat the focus is on what she can’t eat. Here, she and I are both thrilled to have found a place with so many choices of what we CAN eat. The Café menu changes several times a week and includes fresh, organic vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices, as well as some non-vegetarian dishes. And Executive Chef Peg and her staff also take requests if you don’t see what you want on the menu. I’ve always found all the staff at Basil Bandwagon extremely helpful and friendly. Also, the store itself has one of the best gluten-free sections I’ve ever seen and all of their produce is certified organic. One final tip: don’t leave without trying one of their homemade gluten-free peanut butter and jelly cookies! Truly amazing!

This restaurant started out as a vegetarian restaurant on the corner of Park and Orchard in Rutherford. It moved to larger quarters years ago in neighboring East Rutherford. The menu has expanded to include fish, organic chicken, beef and ostrich. Many vegetarian choices are available. They have a large and varied gluten-free menu. All their soups except minestrone are gluten free. There are appetizers, main courses and desserts. They have an incredible wine and beer list. Enjoy!

We happened to find this local restaurant while visiting friends in Hackettstown NJ. I was so excited to finally find a restaurant with such passion in their Gluten Free menu.I mean they have it all: pizza, seafood, ck , sandwiches , desserts...and more. I was in heaven, by far the best gluten free food I have ever had. Can't wait to visit again so that I can splurge . Plus the service and atmosphere were both fantastic.

There were many options for gluten free meals. Gluten free pancakes and waffles are available. Gluten free baked goods such as muffins, scones, brownies, and cookies. Many entree options such as balsamic chicken, spanish paella, feta chicken with vegetables, and chicken marsala. Some entrees have butterfly noodles but if you ask for rice or potatoes they will accomodate you. Finally, after being there this summer the managers, Julia and Katie, told me that they will be offering a gluten free wrap for sandwiches and egg sandwiches.

Pasquale, winner of the NFCA Appetite for Awareness in Philadelphia, is an amazing chef. His Italian restaurant features regular (wheat) and gluten-free pasta dishes that are out of this world, garlic bread, pizza, foccachia sandwiches (that I love), gnocchi, ravioli, and great desserts. Just about everything on the regular menu can be made gluten-free, and all of it is delicious. Everyone I've taken there...gluten-free or not, even my young granddaughter, has been pleased. I have no personal connection to this place, other than being a very satisfied customer.

Best Mexican food around and I've never been glutened when eating there. Their kitchen is spotless and the food is always great. Their chicken taco, chips, and salsa are gluten free. If you do order their fajitas, ask that the toppings be placed on a dish without the fried basket. The staff is excellent and very helpful. They have outdoor seating during the warm months - wonderful indoor atmosphere. You won't break the bank account when eating there. Very reasonable.

A lovely little cafe with a very down-to-earth friendly atmosphere. When the waiter read the specials, he didn't even know that some of us at the table were GF, but he mentioned which dishes were GF--because that's what they normally do! It was so hard to decide! I had asparagus and goat cheese omlette...with GF toast on the side! (the toast was the best part!) The food was very good. They even could make GF french toast, as well as onion soup with GF bread in it! The place is small, so make a reservation.

The food was wonderful and I was happy to have so many options. The food was so good that I am dreaming about it. I can't wait to go back. They do have a very nice gluten-free menu but from the regular, extensive menu, they could make almost anything gluten and dairy-free. They also had several desserts to choose from. I had pasta with meat sauce and sausage, garlic bread, salad and a brownie. It was all so delicious. The owner spoke with me at length and was so helpful. His son has many food allergies. It was such a wonderful experience and I wish everyone could get a chance to taste the food. I will definetly go out of my way every time I am in the PA/NJ area to get to this restaurant. I'm really glad that you have this website. I've been hoping to find a place to tell people about this restaurant and to find other restaurants when I travel. Thank you!

Hello, My name is John Paul; I'm from the upper Westside of Manhattan, New York City. I am celiac. I do a lot of traveling for work, I work for a global marketing firm. I recently discovered the best restaurant on the planet. It is called Pasta Pomodoro Ristorante Italiano & Catering. The restaurant is located in South Jersey; in a town called Voorhees. Who would of ever thought that a hidden treasure like this would be nestled in quaint strip mall. There website www.pastapomodoronj.com features a gluten free menu, but when I was seated at our table the host and server mentioned that 80% to 90% of the menu can be prepared gluten free, “WOW”, not to forget mentioning that besides the offering of the basic gluten free pasta choices of penne and spaghetti that I noticed on their website, they also offered gluten free appetizer pierogies, gnocchi, stuff shells, and ravioli. Thank God I was seated, “WOW – WOW” !!! Unbelievable experience, they really know what they are doing. I started with gluten free garlic bread. Their marinara sauce should be bottled. Now I know why they named the restaurant Pomodoro. What ever the type of Italian tomato they use is top quality. Gluten free pizza was my appetizer; soup was chicken pastina (gluten free) and my entrée was Pollo Maximo with gluten free gnocchi. I had to have dessert, it was recommended earlier, gluten free strawberry short cake. If you were wondering, I had plenty of left over for the next day. My friends and family enjoyed themselves also even though they do not have to eat gluten free. Wish they would open up in Manhattan, but Pasquale told me that my request would be put on the list. Since many customers asked him already. Pasquale is the chef / owner whom is quiet informative about restrictive dietary needs. He told me his son, whom will be three in June, has many a food allergies and is deathly allergic to wheat. Worse than having celiac, I don’t feel as bad now about having celiac. He tells me that people from around the globe visit him. Now I see why. Fantastic food: service and ambiance. He makes everyone feel like family. I noticed on their front window gluten free signage, throughout the restaurant letters and photos from various customers. Did I mention Pasquale was the winner of the 2007 NFCA Gluten Free Cooking Spree held in Philadelphia, Pa. I recommend, no I insist everyone visit Pasta Pomodoro !!! No matter where you live, it is worth it. Thank you, John Paul Manhattan NY

This is a beautiful restaurant where I give my sisters gift certificates each year so that we have an excuse to go back. They are very friendly, and although they do not have a gluten free menu, they will answer any and all questions about the items on the menu. I usually get the Salmon, which is not listed on their website menu. I've also had various soups, including cold soups in the summer. They have told me that they never use flour to thicken their cream soups - if a soup needs thickening, they use cream. My sister (also a celiac) asked about one of the salad dressings, and was told that one was out as it did have flour in it, but they recommended alternatives there were gluten free. The only time I had a difficult time, was at a Sunday Brunch, although I did find enough to eat that I was pleasantly stuffed.
