If You Live In -- or are Traveling to -- Los Angeles, Be Sure to Visit The Sensitive Baker in Culver City for Hand-Crafted Gluten-Free Artisanal Breads and Deliciously Decadent Desserts!

Gluten Free Chocolate Muffin from the Sensitive Baker in Los AngelesThe Sensitive Baker in Culver City is the best! It started as a small "mom and pop" bakery catering to those with dietary restrictions such as Gluten and Casein Free and is Kosher too. It has recently been taken over by new owners who are doing their best to push the envelope. Now, many of their products are Vegan and Nut Free, too!

I live nearby The Sensitive Baker and have been buying their delicious baked goods since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 2 1/2 years ago. If you live too far away but are in the state of California, you'll be excited to know they will deliver UPS next-day within California.

Gluten-free bagel from the Sensitive Baker in Los AngelesThey always offer free samples of their latest cookies or muffins. They cater to seasonal fare. Their muffins and bagels are so moist and delicious that you would never know the difference! My favorite are the chocolate/zucchini
and the pumpkin muffins. The Vegan morning glory muffins are like a meal in themselves.

I tried a lot of G-F breads when I was first adjusting my diet. So many of them were rock hard or just crumbled when you held them. Then I started buying bread from The Sensitive Baker. I have never tasted anything so delicious!
The sliced rice loaf is a staple in my house for my kids and I swear whole-heartedly by the Vegan Oat loaf, which is just gorgeous toasted with jam and almond butter!

Gluten Free Bread from The Sensitive Baker in Los AngelesDon't even get me started about the pizza crusts! I made some the other day with the new Italian herbed prebaked crusts and my family devoured them! So flavorful and just doughy enough to remind me of the pizza I used to eat, but no longer crave. They also sell breadsticks, foccacia, and bialys, but I haven't tried them all yet.

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies from The Sensitive Baker in Los AngelesOn the sweet side, there are the make mini apple pies that make you want more and quinoa cranberry cookies that even non G-F folks love! The chocolate chip cookies are a traditional favorite and they have just introduced a glazed molasses cookie. The brownies are sugar dusted and big enough to share. The cupcakes are perfect to bring to any party or school event to make sure your G-F kid has a treat too!

Don't forget that they take custom orders for cakes for your special occasion. I had my birthday cake made there and it was so rich and decadent!

Gluten Free Rolls from The Sensitive Baker in Los AngelesThey now have even started selling some other G-F items in the bakery like G-F oats (so hard to find!) and a wonderful selection of frozen foods as well as chips and snack bars. They do not make meals, but you can enjoy your brownie at the tables and chairs outside the little store front or take your goodies to the beach (its only 10 minutes away)!
If you are in LA, and are G-F or have other dietary restrictions, you HAVE to stop by The Sensitive Baker! You won't regret it and might just get hooked. They are open daily from 10-6.
