SUNY Potsdam: This university serves gluten free students well
My son Sam is a freshman studying music at this school. He is
on the full meal plan there with several dining facilities to
choose from to eat on campus. From the start, Sam noticed
that there were many gluten free options. Not just "Standard"
such as plain meats, rice, salad bar, etc...but actual glutenfree
prepackaged items. There are also a couple separate stations set
up in the main dining hall dedicated to gluten free items and
meals. At the deli, Sam can get a sandwich on Udi's bread! The
food service company has been very accommodating to Sam,
helping with any needs (and wants!) he may have. They have
been in touch with me (his mom) as well. They have even gone
so far as to create special gluten free meals for him on
request.There are a few other celiacs on campus that Sam is
friendly with, who can also take advantage of these services.
Overall it has been a great experience so far at Potsdam. Much
easier and better than we had expected. __________________
